Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery

We are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help in our museum galleries. As part of your role you will given training on areas like customer service, collections care and what to expect in the museum- whether that's information on the objects on display or the events we have coming up. A typical volunteering session will involve you being based out on the museum floor in one of our galleries keeping a watchful eye on the space and being on hand to answer visitor questions. We are open Tuesday to Saturday so you can volunteer for a little as an hour or a whole afternoon depending on your availability! Want to get involved a bit more by taking your volunteering a step further? We have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in areas that interest you. - You may be a confident communicator and can help us to collect visitor feedback through surveys and speaking to visitors. - Interested in research? We have lots of collections for you to get stuck into researching, like the paintings in our art gallery, to create resources for visitors. - You may be a keen organiser who can help us plan and prepare resources for our kids craft activities. - Are you a social media pro? Help us create some fun content for our social media!
