Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery
Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery was one of the first purpose built free museums to open outside of London in 1874. Our large collection features fine art, decorative art, Egyptology, coins, manuscripts, Japanese prints, natural history, social history and items from South Asia. We have just celebrated our 150th anniversary and are marking the year with events, activities and exhibitions to celebrate our big birthday. We are looking for new volunteers to join our volunteer team to help support our activities, from craft sessions to collection care to gallery assistants.
