British Textile Biennial 2025

BTB couldn’t happen without our brilliant volunteers working behind the scenes to get exhibitions ready and welcoming audiences to the festival spaces across East Lancashire. We have various roles suited to different interests and skill levels. Exhibition Host: You will be located in an exhibition space welcoming guests, answering questions and collecting feedback from visitors. You will develop skills and In-depth learning about the artworks and artists featured. You will also take responsibility for organising the areas in the exhibitions and checking that everything is restocked at the end of each evening. Exhibition Tour Guide: You will get the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge and experience a wide range of the exhibitions by accompanying the public to different venues. You will be walking from venue to venue and answering questions on the way, which might be local knowledge as well as exhibition specific. Exhibition/Production Assistant: This is an opportunity to work closely with artists and curators to gain installing and curation knowledge. You will be working in exhibition spaces, maybe lifting or carrying and listening to instructions carefully. This is a very hands on role. Exhibition Tour Guide: You will get the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge and experience a wide range of the exhibitions by accompanying the public to different venues.
